1. Who is responsible
Rise Advertising LLC is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at hello@riseadvertising.co or by post at Rise Advertising LLC, San Diego, CA 92127, USA.
2. What we collect
If you only visit this website
Very little. This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies and does not embed third-party analytics or social pixels. Our hosting provider records standard server logs — IP address, timestamp, page requested, browser user agent — for security and to keep the site running.
If you apply to create
The application form is hosted separately at hq.riseadvertising.co. Through it we collect:
- your name, email address and the country or region you are based in;
- the social handles you choose to list, and public information about those accounts;
- a video of you talking to camera, which you submit as part of the application;
- your answers to the application questions, including what topics you are comfortable making videos about; and
- where you came from, if you arrived through a tagged link, so we know which posts are working.
If you work with us
In addition to the above:
- your signed creator agreement, including the signature you enter, and the date, time and IP address it was signed from — this is what makes the signature evidentially useful to both of us;
- tax documentation we are required to collect, such as a W-9, and the information needed to file a 1099;
- the payment details you give us so we can pay you, and a record of what we have paid;
- the links to videos you deliver, and public engagement metrics for them — view counts and similar — collected from the platforms they are posted on; and
- your login credentials for your creator account.
The metrics we collect are the public figures the platforms publish for a post. We do not have, and do not ask for, access to your platform accounts or their private analytics.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To review your application — because you asked us to consider you (steps taken at your request prior to a contract).
- To run the creator programs — briefs, agreements, delivery and reporting: performance of our contract with you.
- To pay you and account for it — performance of our contract, and compliance with tax and accounting law.
- To show you your own dashboard — your views, engagement and earnings: performance of our contract.
- To keep the service secure and improve it — our legitimate interest in operating a service that is not abused.
- To send you service messages — an agreement to sign, a payment sent: performance of our contract. We do not add applicants to a marketing list.
4. What we never do
- We do not sell or rent personal information, to anyone.
- We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or for anyone else’s marketing.
- We do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal effects — a person reads every application.
- We do not use your application video to advertise anything. Rights to advertise with a video are granted only in a signed agreement, for the work commissioned under it.
5. Who we share it with
Only with service providers who need it to do their job for us, under contract, and only for that purpose:
- our hosting and database providers, who store the data;
- our email provider, to deliver messages we send you;
- a data provider that retrieves public post metrics from the platforms;
- payment providers, to send you money, and our accountants, to account for it;
- the app whose campaign you are working on, where they need to know who made a video and how it performed.
We also disclose information where the law requires it, to enforce our agreements, or to protect someone’s safety or rights. If the business is ever sold or merged, information may transfer as part of it — subject to this policy.
6. Where it is stored
Our providers store data on servers in the United States. If you are outside the US, applying means your information is transferred there. Where those transfers are subject to UK or EU data protection law, we rely on the appropriate safeguards for them, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
7. How long we keep it
- Applications that do not proceed — up to 24 months, so we can come back to you when something suitable launches, then deleted. Ask us and we will delete sooner.
- Creator records — for as long as you work with us.
- Signed agreements, payment and tax records — for as long as the law requires us to keep them, typically seven years, because we cannot delete these on request while that obligation stands.
- Server logs — a short rolling window, then overwritten.
8. Security
Access to creator data is restricted to the people who need it, protected by per-user accounts and database-level access rules, and served only over encrypted connections. Signing links are single-use and time-limited. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affected your information we would tell you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.
9. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, or stop using it in a particular way. Email hello@riseadvertising.co and we will respond within the time the law allows — one month under UK/EU rules, 45 days under California rules. We will never treat you differently for asking.
If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, the right to data portability, and the right to complain to your data protection authority. If you are a California resident you have the rights to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing — and as above, we do not sell or share personal information.
10. Children
This site and our programs are for adults. You must be 18 or over to apply. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and if we learn that we have, we delete it.
11. Cookies
This website uses no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is nothing here for you to consent to. RiseHQ, where the application and your account live, sets a strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in — without it you could not stay logged in — and nothing else.
12. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you directly.
13. Contact
Any privacy question, or any of the requests above, goes to hello@riseadvertising.co. Our terms of service cover the rest of your use of this site.
